Optimal and tight Bell inequalities for state-independent contextuality sets

چکیده

Two fundamental quantum resources, nonlocality and contextuality, can be connected through Bell inequalities that are violated by state-independent contextuality (SI-C) sets. These allow for applications require simultaneous contextuality. However, existing inequalities, the produced SI-C sets is very sensitive to noise. This precludes experimental implementation. Here we identify which optimal, i.e., maximally robust either noise or detection inefficiency, simplest [S. Yu C. H. Oh, Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 030402 (2012)] Kochen-Specker [A. Cabello et al., A 212, 183 (1996)] show that, in both cases, sufficiently resistant experiments. Our work enables experiments combine therefore paves way take advantage of their synergy.

Optimal inequalities for state-independent contextuality.

Contextuality is a natural generalization of nonlocality which does not need composite systems or spacelike separation and offers a wider spectrum of interesting phenomena. Most notably, in quantum mechanics there exist scenarios where the contextual behavior is independent of the quantum state. We show that the quest for an optimal inequality separating quantum from classical noncontextual cor...

State-independent quantum contextuality with single photons.

We present an experimental state-independent violation of an inequality for noncontextual theories on single particles. We show that 20 different single-photon states violate an inequality which involves correlations between results of sequential compatible measurements by at least 419 standard deviations. Our results show that, for any physical system, even for a single system, and independent...

Experimentally testable state-independent quantum contextuality.

We show that there are Bell-type inequalities for noncontextual theories that are violated by any quantum state. One of these inequalities between the correlations of compatible measurements is particularly suitable for testing this state-independent violation in an experiment.

Necessary and Sufficient Condition for Quantum State-Independent Contextuality.

We solve the problem of whether a set of quantum tests reveals state-independent contextuality and use this result to identify the simplest set of the minimal dimension. We also show that identifying state-independent contextuality graphs [R. Ramanathan and P. Horodecki, Phys. Rev. Lett. 112, 040404 (2014)] is not sufficient for revealing state-independent contextuality.
